"A good teacher is able to present you with information that puts you on the right path, and inspires you to stay there." - John Christy

I'm just going to tell it as it is - no one and I mean no one could tell you how to build a bigger, stronger and better conditioned physique than John Christy. When I first became exposed to John's writings I was already training in a sensible fashion and was already getting good gains. Yet John's writings and methods just bowled me over and propelled my training to new heights-helping me to gain over 40lbs of bodyweight with big increases in strength. Follow John's advice and you will achieve tremendous success along with improving your life outside the gym as well.

Our greatest achievements in life are won by the very principals John Christy taught: simplicity, consistency, determination. I was twelve years-old when I started training with John. Twenty years later I am stronger and healthier than ever. His rigorous guidance and always evolving knowledge was essential to my progression. Not only was John passionate about every detail concerning the improvement of the human body, but he was a master at integrating your mind and spirit. Because of John I love to train, and it is that love that makes me the champion I am.
- Alex Kosene, Record- Holding Champion Powerlifter

John was my coach and mentor for nearly ten years. If you follow what John teaches, it will save you years of frustration and make you a weight training success story.
- Craig Rasmussen, CSCS, Professional strength coach and competitive powerlifter

"I was fortunate enough to meet John Christy. He coached me through what was necessary to meet my goals, physically and mentally. His strength program initiated massive gains in both size and strength. I wanted to get into powerlifting and John put me on a program that allowed me to squat and deadlift over 500lbs. and bench over 300lbs. – "raw" and drug-free - at my very first meet. His efficient program worked tremendously with my lifestyle – full-time college student supporting myself with two jobs. John's proven philosophy on functional strength training can propel any athlete, whether they are professional or the weekend warrior, to the top of their game and help them attain their goals".
- Dr. Jon Anderson, Former professional baseball player and nationally ranked powerlifter

I would like to repeat a few things I learned from John:
1. "Dream big , lift big" -- He said that when I told him my goal was a 200% (180kg.) Sumo DL. John not only thought that I would nail it but demanded I up my goal. This was very encouraging.
2. "Little plates, big gains" -- At the beginning of the cycle I had four microplates manufactured for me – two 1/4 kg. plates and two 1/2 kg. plates. There is no doubt that these were my "secret weapons". After an initial break in period I began micro loading and was consistently adding 1 kg. a week to my big lifts and 1/2kg. to the smaller movements.
3. "Beat failure" –- The idea of completing the work set where the last rep is the one before failure or where you have a rep left in the tank.
John Christy is not for everybody. If you are not serious about your training, if you are not goal oriented, if you are not rational and disciplined then save your time. Coach Christy's system can be summarized very simply: lift twice a week consistently and progressively utilizing the big exercises in good form. Progress is attained thru single progression and micro loading. Eat and rest well and don't forget your cardio.
